    Phil when will you do your qualifier for the trans pac on the mini ? I won't be able to keep up but misery loves company .

    That's just the point. It would be hard. The Transat second leg is almost that long and they do it. With this new boat I don't really care about racing anybody but other mini's. The mini class doesn't have handicaps and so far the mini's are screwed in PHRF. But there are no mini class races in the US yet so I'm stuck being screwed by PHRF. I don't plan on going to Europe to race so it is what it is.

    Why would you want to sail to Tahiti in a midget boat? You need to carry so much more water, food and other junk that a very small boat's performance would be severely degraded! Been there twice in 30 footers, but each time via Marquesas...3000NM max passage.
