I'm just curious...
Now, a lot of "racing" dinghies can be turned into "cruising" dinghies with the addition of a cockpit full of dry bags, though sleeping on board might not be practical. I can think of three regular forum participants that have small boats that are cruise-able...Me, Tchoup, Ants (the Koster). and I know Bob has a pretty up-to-date racing dinghy.
Lasers don't make very good cruising dinghies, but a Lido 14 sure does. Beach cats work, just pack all your stuff in dry bags and take along a 2-3 person coleman tent that you lay down over the trampoline. Potters? I seem to recall that there's a Dura Mater II (mini) maybe?
