Chris, check your DM. Drogue and spinnaker net available also.

SHTP stuff for sale or loan: liferaft, flares, . . .

Revere Regatta 4-man valise liferaft, certified to sometime in 2026 SOLAS flares -- I think I have 4 rockets and 2 smokes, expiration sometime in 2026 Israeli battle dressings, in case flying sharks attack. 3 of them, I think What else do you need? Problem is, I'm a long way from most of you...

    Late Pac's - Getting Qualified

I've used Capt. Tolley's to try to seal cracks. The viscosity is so low, it's hard to imagine it filling much of a gap. Do your friends screw the windows down, then apply? Sorry everyone for the thread hijack. Maybe I should have asked in another part of the forum.

    Late Pac's - Getting Qualified

Well done, Greg! I see your windows are mounted as simply as mine. Do they leak at all? If not, what's your secret? I've tried two or three different sealants and finally butyl tape, but I have chronic leaks. I discarded my soggy, salty sleeping bag when I got home from the last SHTP.

the Confusing land of life rafts

I have a Revere Regatta 4-man valise raft, current until 2026. Revere's website says it weighs 64 lb; I thought it was a bit less than that. I'll lend it out for the SHTP if you make the shipping painless for me from and back here in East Podunk, SoCal. Jim Quanci: any advice on packaging for...

    Three Bridge Fiasco 2003

Fairly quick race, only a couple of finishers after 17:00. I was looking for myself, then I realized that race was my initiation as PRO.

    Hanalei mooring permit

I've gotten hold of the application for a permit to anchor in Hanalei Bay. For our fleet the Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation is waiving the requirement for a survey or inspection by a state harbor agent within the last two years, but the form also states that we must list the State of...

    Storm windows

Here are a few photos of one of my window covers, with just two of the four cleats in place. It occurs to me that a broken window probably wouldn't fall away completely, so who knows how many of the cleats I would actually be able to use. unless I unscrewed the remaining pieces or drilled holes...

    Surprise!

I've been thinking of adding a boom brake too. I balked at the cost of the Wichard Gyb'Easy, but then on one of the Facebook sailing groups I saw that someone was using a rock-climbing descender, obviously working on the same principle. So I got one myself. It's going to take some fiddling to...

    VTS in Los Angeles

Last week I tuned into the Singlehanded Farallones skippers meeting on Zoom for old times sake, and to possibly learn something new about traffic in the Gulf'o'Lons from the guest speaker. Petty Officer Leitzke jogged my memory about the Offshore Vessel Traffic Advisory at 15 and 45 past the...

Anyone sailing Dec. 26? Former SSS member, in town for the holiday, +1 (both former race chairs fwiw), would like to join you if you have cockpit space. Thanks Max & Jan

    Volvo Penta MD7A exhaust Manifold

James, I have one. Very rusty due to a water leak, but I don't think it's cracked. You're welcome to it for free if you think you can use it. I have some other (better) parts too, but I've promised them to another MD7A owner for a lump sum. I'll be in the Bay Area very briefly around Christmas...

Interested in a boat for 2018 TransPac

Here's mine. Very simple, I threw it together in a hurry from the luff tape of an old jib and my old jacklines. A ring at each corner and lines at the tack and clew to tie them down. The foot is only about half of my J dimension, so it didn't get in the way of the pole during end-for-end jibes...

Gearing up * photo du jour

Hey Jackie, I just discovered the pictures of me on p. 1 of this thread, thanks. The toothbrushing photo is from the 2009 LongPac and is an homage to Synthia Petroka who posted a similar selfie a couple of years earlier ... on this forum? Here's one of my favorites, halfway day in 2010.

    Boom tent - free

It's a PNW thing, I guess. You reach your anchorage. The rain is pouring down. You want to sip your rum, but you want to enjoy the scenery too. So you rig this thing up and there you are: sitting on a wet cockpit seat watching the bald eagles and trees and orcas and such, while Capt. Morgan does...

    Fuel level sender - free

S.S. White # HA106 fuel level sender, new in box. Says it fits tanks from 6" to 24" deep, for 12 volt negative-ground electrical systems. Gauge not included. Works on diesel, gasoline or whale oil! (I'm guessing) It's been gathering dust in my office for years because when I bought a new fuel...

    Past SHTP results?

I can't find SHTP results (for some years) in the archives. Can we get them reposted, or are they somewhere other than where I'm looking? Thanks
