    Bobbi Tosse

We heard the news last night. It's hard to lose the people you always looked up to. She had a great sense of humor and was a big part of racing on the Bay.

    Surprise!

The best would be a strop around the end of the boom. The setup shown looks weak as the middle of the bolt takes the load and has chafe points.

    Berkeley Sunday Midwinters

Stink Eye signed up for the Tiburon Yacht Club Wild Turkey Race on Black Friday Nov. 27th. It looks like fun.

    What I Saw

The new Fugu paint job looks great. Now I have the most beat up boat on E dock.

    Lifepo4 battery question

Maybe someone can answer this.(Greg?) I have a 40ah Lifepo on Stink Eye that works great for Bay races but runs out of juice on longer overnight stuff. I'd like to buy a second 60ah Lifepo for the longer races and hook them up in parallel to make 100ah. Both will have a BMS and be charged from...

Anybody looking to race in this years Berkeley Midwinters on Sundays in a shorthanded division? Like last year Stink Eye will go if it happens.

    DH Around New Zealand

https://www.ssanz.co.nz/round-new-zealand/ I never heard of this race before but it looks interesting. Two Farr 38's (I think like Timberwolf?) The Kiwis are a tough bunch.

    SHTP posters

We have 5 posters from past SHTP races we would like to give away. They are from 1990,92,94 and 2000. 3 are framed. If you want them we may be at a future SSS meeting or you can pick them up in Marin or possibly Richmond Yacht Club.

    SSS and NCORC

On the Round the Rocks thread there was some discussion about offshore regs and the fewer participants for the OYRA series. I'm starting this to discuss the possibility of less regs for the SSS Half Moon Bay Race. All the other SSS ocean races are either more remote or tie with the OYRA RC (and...

    NCORC and SAS course

I'm still confused about the SAS requirement for a doublehanded entry: 4.3 At least 30% of those aboard, including the person in charge, shall have attended a US Sailing sanctioned Safety at Sea Seminar within the last 5 years, or other course accepted by the NCORC. Does that mean both have to...

Both Assy and Sym chutes going to Hawaii

The YRA now allows both types of chutes with no penalty. VII G: "CARRYING BOTH SYMMETRIC AND ASYMMETRIC SPINNAKERS AT THE SAME TIME There is no penalty for carrying both a symmetric and asymmetric spinnaker at the same time. Boats typically rigged with a spinnaker pole that opt to tack their...

    sss hmb and ncorc rules

I see the NCORC recommendations have been posted and the SSS is going to use them for the HMB Race. I feel that a lot of the requirements will cause less boats to race. In the past the SSS HMB race has been a good starter race for those looking to get into ocean racing. I think the regulations...
