AIS Transmitter... free for a good home

Just replaced my old AIS Receive Only unit with a new Type B Receive and Transmit unit. My old one is free - first come first serve. It's 4 years old and been back and forth to Hawaii twice without a hiccup. See details on the unit at http://www.milltechmarine.com/Smart-Radio-SR161-AIS-Receiver_p_167.html

You'll likely need to buy an antenna splitter (http://www.milltechmarine.com/Smart-Radio-VHFAIS-Antenna-Splitter_p_171.html) and cable to hook to your GPS (I had it wired to a handheld GPS with NMEA 0183) to get it working.

Having thought about it, I'll get the NASA AIS instead. Jim, what a generous offer. I'm sure someone will make good use of this, just not me.

Jim, I'll take you up on the offer, it it's still available. I'm planning the LongPac singlehanded this year. See you tomorrow night at the Awards Party. Pat Broderick

Jim, and everyone. Oops! My 1865 calendar seems out of date! Tomorrow night I'll be seeing "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum" in Rohnert Park. And, I withdraw my offer of taking the unit off Jim's hands, too. I think it's time to get to bed and wake up and start the day fresh tomorrow. Pat

I'd be very interested in your AIS unit Jim if it's still available. My Son & I have been doing the in the Bay races doublehanded for some years now and are planning on more ocean races after a great HMB last year. I'm in and around point Richmond each week, and or can meet you elsewhere.
