Akumu out late last night

Lightspeed

Willpower
Daydreamer, I didn’t hear you come home last night but saw a well sailed but tired Akumu in her slip this morning. Did you make it all the way to the Farallons yesterday?

Hey Lightspeed!!
Great running in to you.
Hope your day went well too!

Since my last two Singlehanded Farallones were light air busts, I needed to get some offshore mileage in with Akumu to qualify for the LongPac.

Heading out a little before 8:00 I soon found it nuking through the slot.
Got the sail plan down to two reefs and no jib.
The fog at the GG Bridge and the morning sun made an interesting effect.

Spinnaker Cup was starting off the city front as well so several on the way to the start were ducking in behind Angel and Alcatraz islands to reduce sail.

Once under the bridge got the jib back up and shook out a reef.
Past Point Bonita the full main went up.
Watched the Spinnaker Cup starters work their way south past Mile Rock.

Wind was pretty much on the nose, so lots of tacking.
Pinching into the swell made for slow going.
Finally got to the Farallones around 19:30, and rounded by 20:00.

I hadn't prepped for a spinnaker and didn't feel up to getting on the bow in the swell to run the sheet so sailed back with white sails.
Back at the Gate at 01:00 and in the slip at 2:40.
Tired.

Mr Hedgehog stopped by Sunday morning and we ticked off the inspection.

See you at the start for Long Pac!

Greg! Sorry I missed you, but I was home nice 'n warm in my bed when you returned. I remember when you told me that you planned to do the LongPac "for fun". And here's the thing: I believed you! Go get 'em!
