Berkeley Midwinters 2016-2017

For those of you wondering "what to do?" after the Vallejo 1-2, Here is the answer! url]http://www.berkeleyyc.org/race/2016-2017-midwinters[/url] We had a nice group of singlehanders last season with our own start on Sundays. See you out there!!!

Last year the Sunday series cost $80 and we showed up en masse. This year the Sunday series is $110. Wassup? Berkeley still gets its food from Costco, so it isn't the cuisine. I know that the yoghurt I buy is now in a smaller container for the same price, but the newspaper tells me there is no inflation. I'm confused. I'll ask Bobbi Tosse

It's just like the "deal" from the cable company, reel you in, then raise the rates.

Might need some new bling for the committee boat.:roll eyes:

Maybe there will be some exceptional trophies this year!

I'm going to miss the first one. We'll be in Spain...

Nice! I know you will have a wonderful time even if you are not sailing. DM and I will be wintering in La Marina Grande. Berkeley esta demasiado lejos.

I didn't see the shorthanded option either. Last year, after the initial cut-off date, BYC's R/C sent an e-mail confirming whether we wanted to race S/H or D/H. I assume Bobbi will do the same again this year. Just be sure to sign up for the Sunday series - there are no shorthanded divisions in the Saturday series.

Although DIANNE does the crewed series both days the 25% increase in entry fees is noted. Cost last year for both series $150, cost this year $200. The Express 27 Nationals just a month ago cost only $180. And that included 5 (Costco?) meals. SDK

Wonderful to see that Bandicoot sails again! Finally out of the yard after WAY too long on the hard!!! Congratulations, Al. And there is Nathalie racing the Figaro II that used to be owned by Samantha Davies: got her name, Hot Socks, from Sam's father, who was a bootlegger during World War II and the go-to guy for women's stockings between England and France. How cool is that for a back story? Allan Cooper back from Mexico, I presume? And everybody in between. Bob is still singlehanding, although he said he would try for doublehanding. And the list goes on.
