Friends,

As many of you know our friend Bill Merrick passed away.
He was a dear friend of mine whom I enjoyed sailing with or just being with.
He raced his Ericson 35 MkII to Hawaii twice in the Single Handed Trans Pac.
He was a Marine and he was the Commodore of the Single Handed Sailing Society.

There will be a gathering at the Presidio Chapel in San Francisco on Sunday August 25th at 10:00 to remember Bills life. Bill was married to his wife Sara in this Chapel.
If you have the time and you knew Bill please come and be part of remembering his life.

As one, at least, who could not make it to the Presidio today, I want to say that Bill’s contributions to the SSS, his generosity of time and spirit, and his willingness to help others fully realize their dreams will not soon be forgotten. Thank you Bill. Fair winds and Godspeed.
