Boat Inspections

The inspection checklist is posted on the race web page. This is a check list only. Boats will be inspected against the requirements as stated in the race Rules and Conditions. Any difference will be ruled in favor of the Rules and Conditions. The checklist is just easier to use.

For items such as Jacklines, skippers need to have documentation that certifies that the equipment meets requiremets such as manufacture's packaging, catalogue description, - something that establishes that the piece meets the specific standard required in the rules. "It's really, really strong" won't cut it.

Boats should be ready in all respects except for provisioning, water and rentals (liferaft, epirb, iridium) at the time of inspection. Please don't schedule an inspection while your sails are at the sail loft or before you've finished building that pesky emergency rudder. Please do schedule your inspection by May 24 and have it completed by June 14 if you are located within commuting distance of San francisco. If not lucky enough to live in this corner of paradise, we'll see you when you get here.

To schedule your inspection please CALL me at 415-331-8820 before May 24.
