Cell phone direct to satellite offshore

(This is not an ad… just thought it might be useful …) I just connected my iPhone direct to SpaceX Starlink via T-Mobile. So far it works. You have to sign up for testing with T-Mobile. Its free. Setup isnt that hard, nothing a 6-year-old niece could not handle. Wasn't sure whether to post this in the SHTP section, hopefully someone there sees this as I think that would be a good test to see just how far offshore and how well it works.

TLDR this is what you get

Basically … your "bars" are now split. One set is for "regular" call service (terrestrial cell towers), mine is AT&T. The other set of bars is for Starlink and T-Mobile (so I show connected via 5G Ultra Capacity above. If you set it up you will automagically use Starlink when you are far enough offshore that cell towers dont work.
