I'm setting up my Moore for the 2013 LongPac and the 2014 SHTP. I have...well... a VHF, and it transmits intermittantly (hence the check in penalty in the V1-2). It follows that I need some things, like:
-SSB/Satphone
-EPIRB
-Liferaft
-GPS
-Solar panels

..plus other required saftey gear I probably don't even know I need. If you've got it, and you're willing to part with it for a reasonable sum, please let me know! I'm just a young, broke kid with a dream. Well, less young than I used to be, but married, so more broke than I used to be.

In Moore-specific stuff, I'd be interested in spare spin poles, spare kites, and storm-type sails if they're out there.

Thanks!

Indeed it is. I hear there's bad mojo associated with renaming a boat, so Hurricane it will probably remain.

I have an Icom IC-M402A, 25-watt fixed mount VHF w/ram mike (so you can hear/use it in the cockpit). It works fine; I just wanted a new VHF with AIS built-in. I'd sell it pretty cheap - I was going to take it over to Tom at Blue Pelican but I'd rather see an aspiring SHTP'er get it. Are you coming to the meeting on Wednesday night?

You should rent the liferaft - unless you're going cruising it doesn't pencil out to buy one. All three of my GPS's were bought on E-Bay. Talk to Rob Tryon about solar panels.

Wednesday meetings are tough for a guy like me, because I live on the east side of the Sierras. Copy the rest of the advice--thank you, sir. PM sent about the VHF.
