Farallones Skippers Meeting May 12th

The skipper's meeting for the SSS singlehanded Farallones race is tomorrow night May 12th at 7:30 p.m.

This is one week earlier than in past years to get all the documents needed for the Coast Guard ready before the race.

You will need a registered 406Mhz PLB or EPIRB device for this years race in addition to the other requirements.

In past years, many people waited to enter this race until they knew what the weather was going to be like. Because the deadline for entry is 9 days before the race, you may want to register and then decide not to sail the day of the race due to weather. Check in via VHF is still required before the race.

Thought I should mention that the SIs on the SSS web site for the SH Farallones have not been updated to include the in-the-bay 1 Bridge Fiasco course to the Carquinez Bridge.
