Fiasco and Corinthian News

Race Chair 0.5
Hello, SSS Racers.

I have a bunch of updates for Fiasco & Corinthian.

1) I've changed the Fiasco SIs a bit: please look for revision 2 (with green highlights for changes). That's the flip side of rushing them out early, sorry.

2) Fiasco registration is closing at 2359 Wednesday night. If you want to race, please get your entry in, fees paid, and so on by then. Race registration is at https://jibeset.net/JACKY000.php?RG=T006291399. If you need a PHRF certificate (and for most people the answer is yes) register for that immediately, at https://jibeset.net/YRA000.php?RG=T035469394 . In the YRA Friday Roundup, YRA said if you "Need a certificate for the Three Bridge? Get your registration in by MONDAY JANUARY 20th and you should have your certificate by the Fiasco registration cutoff on Wednesday January 22nd."

3) There's a Fiasco competitor's meeting at Oakland YC on Wednesday January 22, from 1900 to 2100. It's in-person only. You'll learn about the race, meet fellow racers, and get advice, As an added inducement, I bought swag to hand out, via random drawing, to registered skippers at the meeting.

4) Richmond YC has shared a document of marine hazards near them, including Light List # 5662, "Southampton Shoal Outfall Lighted Buoy 2", which reportedly submerges in a strong current. I've posted a copy. It's worth a look.

5) Registration is open for SSS Corinthian on February 22, at https://jibeset.net/JACKY000.php?RG=T003637623 . Note that ALL boats will need a 2025 PHRF certificate to race that one.

6) If you're not planning to race in SSS Corinthian, consider signing up to help the race committee as a volunteer. It's not much more than an eleven hour commitment if you volunteer all day. I'll give you a shirt, and a sandwich. And you'll be helping other people have a great day on the water: afterall, if we don't have volunteers, we don't have a race. (Note I need to get the shirt order in by Feb 4, so you must commit by then if you want a shirt.) Sign up at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1lgbWE0uMv0J2Sh406zcAR2PhEIhUq0yv_VMHbojFip8

Thank you for racing with the SSS.

Richard
