Follow up study for Singlehanded Sailing Tips book

The time has come to see if there is an actual benefit arising from the recommendations in Chapter 15 of my Singlehanded Sailing Tips book (or chapter 8B in the free version), and the Meals Planning considerations paper (elsewhere in these forums). My goal has always been to improve the sport and now would be the time to test if the ideas actually create a benefit.

I would like to contact with any SH Transpac racers who are considering using any of the ideas presented in the book. You don’t need to be doing them all, just one or a few would be fine.
- Sailing aggressively (to win) rather than conservatively (to finish).
- Mild exercise to reduce fatigue
- Racing against oneself
- Racing against others reported positions
- Mindfulness/Concentration on racing
- Active sail trimming
- Meal planning: simple or complex carbs, protein, fat, caffeine
- Vitamins or supplements: multi vitamins, ginseng root, NADH
- Heat, water

If any SH Transpac racers are considering using any of the techniques presented anywhere in my book, can I ask you to please contact me directly at [email protected] I think that we could come up with some proper conclusions to the ideas presented earlier.

Andy
