Gary Gould, SS Transpac 2010

I wanted to let the Single Handed Sailing Society know the passing of Gary Gould. He participated in the 2010 SS transpac on his Islander 36, Pakele. He circumnavigated single handed but had never sailed to Hawaii. Therefore he joined the Transpac 2008 event but had to postpone till 2010. He got a 1st in his division that year. Sold Pakele and has been building a wooden boat, day sailor from the keel up. He got to sail it five times. He passed away last week from a long battle with cancer. There will be a memorial celebration for him on September 20 in Oxnard, Channel Island harbor. A tree dedication and scattering of his Ashes at sea.

Any donations in his honor should be sent to the Prostrate Research foundation.
For additional information please contact Pete Schmidt ([email protected])

Condolences to Friends and Family of Gary Gould. And thank you, Pete, for the hail.
Sail On, Gary.
