If you've been hanging out with SSS for a few years, and you're a reasonably conscientious person, how about volunteering to inspect a LongPac boat or two? It doesn't take much of your time, and you might find some good ideas to steal. Not a problem if you're planning to do the race yourself: you'll inspect somebody else's boat, and someone else will inspect yours.

We particularly need inspectors in the East Bay to minimize travel time. If you're interested, email me, phone me, or shoot me a private message through this forum.

Thanks to all the volunteers for inspections. I think we're well set now, but I won't turn anyone away who still has a hankering.
 
I am in Marina Village in Alameda and would be happy to check out a boat that is in the immediate area. Looks like you're set, just if you needed...
