SHSS alumnus Jeanne Socrates has left Victoria, BC on her latest non-stop singlehanded circumnavigation attempt. Last seen today on terrestrial AIS at : 48.4068° / -125.216°

She did the SHTP in 2006. She has been around the world alone 3 times. Once non stop. (22nd October 2012 - 8th July 2013, 8 months.)

More honours for Jeanne. The City of Victoria has just mounted a bronze plaque in her honour on the Harbour Wall of History, just across from the Provincial Legislature. This is separate from naming a dock in her honour several months ago.
