Log Book

Here's another one where I have not been able to find anything good.

For me a log book must in a tabular format. I need to be able to scan past data quickly. It needs to be relevant to sailing. It needs to be waterproof to a certain extent.

Nothing I found seemed to fit the bill. There's the option of going custom and printing on waterproof paper, like this guy.

What do you use?

I use artist sketch journals for my log books - I like to write and draw in them, so I don't do well with something that requires me to "fit inside the lines". Journals with wire-bindings will lay-flat which is really nice, and you can get them in smaller sizes tro fit in the nav station. If you look for "stone paper" you'll find that it's waterproof and a pleasure to scribble upon in pencil; I also like to write in the logs with gel-based pens, the gel ink is waterproof (I use uniball G2 pen and ink) once it dries.

Here's an example of a journal, from Blick Art in Berkeley:

If you prefer paper with lines or grids, then artist sketch/journals won't work.
