Occasionally, SSS Board (me) gets asked to send notifications to our members about Other YC races. Some of which are short handed, such as BAMA's Double Handed Farralones or Island Yacht Club's Double Handed Lightship and the OYCs Rites of Spring. Please post threads below this one for such races (need not be short handed if you think our members might be interested).

Inaugural Westpoint Marina Regatta-April 18, 2009

Sequoia Yacht Club is hosting the first annual Westpoint Marina Regatta on Saturday, April 18, 2009.
The Race will start off the NE end of Yerba Buena Island, take Alcatraz to port, and then finish at the Redwood Creek entry buoys #3 and #4; for a total distance of 25 nm. What, you can have a long distance race in San Francisco Bay? We should have our spring wind which means you will have a great run down the bay. Unfortunately, you just can't sail anywhere, the South Bay has a number of very shallow shoals- so check your 'up to date' charts and make sure your depth finder works well!
Once you finish the course, you will find the South Bay hospitality at its best! There will be free berthing at the beautifully new Westpoint Marina. Once you are tied up, there will be transportation provided to Sequoia Yacht Club. SYC will be putting on its famous 'Tri-tip steak dinner’ for $20 per person. Also, SYC will provide breakfast at 8:30am on Sunday.
To enter the race, please fill out the Skipper's Entry form that can be found on the Sequoia Yacht Club’s website ( www.sequoiayc.org/node/137 ) . Besides your signature, we need your PHRF rating, and whether you will be Spinnaker or Non-Spinnaker division. Please send your signed entry form and the $20 entry fee to Sequoia Yacht Club. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Sequoia Yacht Club.
The Standing Sailing Instructions for this regatta are attached below. The key times to keep in mind are-
1. Friday, April-17, 15:00; final SSI posted to this website.
2. Friday, April-17, 18:00; Skipper's Meeting at Sequoia Yacht Club
3. Saturday, April 18, 10:30; Start for Spinnaker and Non-spinnaker divisions

This is a great opportunity to come down to the South Bay, see a brand new marina, and enjoy the warmth and hospitality of Sequoia Yacht Club.

Best Regards,

OYC Double/Single/WomenFullCrewed Rites of Spring April 18, 2009

Hello Racers-The Rites of Spring Race for Double Handed, Single-Handed and Women-Full
crews is coming up on Saturday, April 18 this year, a little later than usual. Scheduling is
really getting tight on the bay.

New this year, we will be offering on-line registration through Jibeset at:
http://www.sfbayraces.com/OYC000.php

As most of you know, this is a fun race wherein you get to sail with the best crew available, yourself.
Or, if gregarious, one dependable other. Since we are part of the Women's Racing Circuit, we do
allow full crewed all-women boats. As always, start line is wide, square, and aided by liberal use of
the radio.

Come on out, get your shirt or hat, have a great race, come up to the club afterward and relive the glory!

George
