Always like getting a hat vs T-Shirts. Who has the oldest hat?

Here's a 1996 East Bay Estuary Race cap and a mug from the 1989 Farallones Race. No, the SSS hasn't always offered t-shirts as mementos. There have been mugs, license plate frames, caps, polo shirts, legal pad folders (I still use my 3-Bridge Fiasco folder), boat photos, scarves, neck gaiters, and others. The decision to hand out tees resulted from an effort to publicize the SSS, thinking that wearing an SSS shirt on the dock might engender a conversation. Putting the names of each 3-Bridge Fiasco boat on the 3-Bridge tees was the same sort of advertising effort. --Pat Broderick
