Round Rocks format

I'm interested in racing in the Round Rocks.
Plan to attend capt. meeting of course, but want to sail at least part of course in same tide conditions sometime before that.
What time does it usually start?
Is course usually the same?
Are there usually a lot of entrants?
Would appreciate info.

I am pretty new at this myself, but generally the races follow the same marks year after year. Jibeset.net has a bit of a clunky interface, but if you dig, you can go back and look at the 2018, 2017 etc races and replay them. Here is the race replay from 2018:

You can also pull up entrants, fleets, total elapsed time etc... When I started out two years ago this was very helpful to figure out for example, how long to plan for Great Vallejo Race. Looks like last year 100 boats registered:

It would be good to get a visualization of the distance races, for each race, for newcomers. I've been pulling up the race replay for Three Bridge Fiasco and Corinthian and found it very helpful, even if I sometime forget to turn on my own GPS tracker to help others.

Attending the skippers meeting is always good if you can tolerate the traffic!

Start times are listed in the sailing instructions, you'll get those on JibeSet when you register, just look for the link. There might be updates so I emphasize CHECK AGAIN on Thursday night before the race! Me, personally, I always print them out, as well as the list of registrants in my PHRF group, both doublehanded and singlehanded, so I know "who to look for" out there.

Entrants? maybe 60? something like that? Maybe as many as 80 this year? There were about 40 when I registered a couple of days ago.
