The SHTP has gotten national coverage. There is a well written and richly deserved feature article on Skip Allen, this year's SHTP winner in the Sept. issue of Sail magazine. It would be very helpful to future races if as many folks as possible, especially the racers, e-mailed thanks to the magazine for the coverage. Publications get plenty of complaints so the compliments tend to stand out. When we ask for coverage in 2010, it would be best to be remembered as "that great group of racers out on the West Coast" instead of " that snarky bunch of ingrates."
This kind of coverage is very important in getting entrants from other parts of the country. We don't want the SHTP to go "rock star" but part of the race's charm is meeting the "wierdos with boats" who come here to find kindred spirits.
