Scales?

I have no shortage of tonal, atonal and even microtonal scales, but I'm curious how much my boat weighs.

Can you just hook an industrial crane scale between your boat and the lift, or is there more to it than that?

Are there any scales available to borrow or rent near Richmond sometime in the next few weeks?

How accurate do you want it?

I'd call Dick Horn, our local US Sailing certified measurer. Dick has a load cell and associated equipment, has weighed hundreds of boats and lives in Pt. Richmond. It isn't very expensive and with all the races cancelled, Dick probably has the time. He's also a gentleman and a scholar.

PM me for his phone number - although it's probably on YRA's website somewhere.

There is some contact info on the YRA website, so I'll try official channels first and then PM you if that doesn't work.

I'm really just trying to get a ballpark figure for where the boat is at for my own curiosity.

Thanks!
