Hello, SSS Racers!

The last SSS regatta for 2023 is the Vallejo 1-2 on October 7 and 8: Saturday is singlehanded, Sunday is doublehanded. In between, on Saturday evening, we plan to meet at Vallejo YC to socialize and hand out shirts to people who did not pick them up at Richmond or Half Moon Bay.

Please come get your shirt(s) if you have not already picked them up --- we are not mailing shirts this year in order to keep costs down, and race fees down. Shirt pickup will happen "after 4 PM."

To race, register on jibeset at https://jibeset.net/JACKY000.php?RG=T006367229

Captleisure reminded me to say that there will be a raft up: boats racing Vallejo 1-2 will have a spot to "park the boat" overnight, in addition to the chance to socialize ashore at Vallejo YC.

Greetings... I have a question about my entry into the Vallejo 1-2... I believe I'm in some contention for the single Handed year... but will having a crew member on Sunday adversely affect my standings....?

I'd like both days to count towards my yearly score ...
So, do I enter single Handed?? Right now it states double Handed Spin 164+...

Thanks for any input and help...

Cheers, Paul. Slainte

You’re fine going back with 2 - Sunday is not a SH season counter.
Photo finish looks like.
See you on the dock!

PSutchek, everydaysailor nailed it.

The Vallejo 1-2 naming is intended to convey the idea that everyone races "Vallejo 1" singlehanded and is scored singlehanded, and then races "Vallejo 2" doublehanded and is scored doublehanded.

Thanks for answering everybody.... as a follow up question... if Sunday doesn't count in the single Handed series...can I turn and burn Saturday night without hurting my singlehanded standings... the wind looks pretty awful....

Thanks again, P
