SSS Vallejo 1-2 Registration Open; In-Person Meeting Oct 2

Race Chair 0.5
Hello, SSS racers!

The Vallejo 1-2 races are now open for registration. This is a great beginner-at-singlehanding event because it is singlehanded-only to Vallejo (downwind) on Saturday Oct 5, and "doublehanded"-only back to Richmond (upwind) on Sunday Oct 6. In past years, Vallejo YC has had nice dinners for us too.

If you cannot find crew for the return leg from Vallejo to Richmond, you can race "doublehanded" for scoring purposes with just one person, per definition of doublehanded. Note jibeset would like to know if you are racing "singlehanded" on Sunday just so we can keep track of who is on the water --- you'll be scored doublehanded whether you have one or two people on Sunday.

You'll get two days of racing for FREE as a member if you register by 2359 Wednesday Sept 25. Or if you are not a SSS member you can pay $35 (under $18/day) to cover both days if you register by 2359 Sept 25. If you'd rather register after Sept 25, but before 2359 Oct 2, that will cost an extra $10, so please register early.

We plan an in-person SSS meeting on October 2 at Oakland YC, starting at 1900. The competitor's briefing will happen at the in-person meeting rather than online. Please come to meet and sociaize with your fellow singlehanders. Especially if you're newer at singlehanding, you can absorb a lot just by listening to conversations.

Thank you for racing with the SSS.

Richard
