tsunami debris to avoid off the coast

The debris field is out there from the tsunami that struck Japan in 2011, and here's a report of small (20 foot) boat that came ashore in Crescent City, Ca.

That would be no fun to hit! I've run over large tree branches (20' or so in length), hit large chunks of timber (one left a ding in the hull), and semi-submerged wooden pallets. Adding in the material from Japan should add some spice to the race, eh?
