Hello, SSS Racers.
Some Vallejo 1-2 reminders:
* Registration for Vallejo 1-2 is still open, but this Wednesday Sept 25 is the last day to register before the $10 late fee kicks in.
* If you want to wait until the last possible moment to register, you can sign up from Thursday Sept 26 to Wednesday October 2, and pay the $10 late fee.
* There will be an in-person SSS Meeting at Oakland YC on Wednesday October 2, from 1900 to 2100. The competitors' briefing will be held then.
Vallejo 1-2 is a nice race to start singlehanding. It's singlehanded only from the Berkeley Circle to Vallejo YC on Saturday. Usually that's mostly downwind, so not much tacking or need for weight on the rail. Then on Sunday there is a "doublehanded" race back to Richmond -- but you can race "doublehanded" with just one person, per definition of doublehanded, if you cannot (or do not want to) find crew. The Sunday race is usually upwind, though, so a second person can be very helpful.
Thank you for racing with the SSS.
Richard
