I am going to sell my 4 man viking life raft. Just got it recertified by Sals. Good for 3 years till 5-2018. New in 2012. Valise. Sailing the Trimaran that doesn't sink even if you filled every compartment I don't need it anymore. The Farallones race convinced me my back will not handle the Long Pac so it is time to let it go to the next person checking off the bucket list. $2400. I can show you the video of when they unpacked it and inflated it so you can be familiar if you ever have to pull that rope.

If you don't sell it by next summer would be interested in renting it out for SHTP? Sals rents the same liferaft for around $600 and that is what were planning on doing. If you were interested and could do better than Sal it could work and you would still have a raft of the same value afterwards.
You might be able to rent it out for Longpac this year as well.

I think all the major races only allow certification to be one year old max no matter how long the factory cert. is good for....?? Anyone chime in if that's not the case for the SHTP.

The 2014 SHTP RRC included the following liferaft cert requirement. The 2012 SHTP had the same requirement logic. As far as I know no change is planned for the 2016 SHTP (except the date which will change to July 23, 2016):
"[5] The life raft shall have a valid certificate from the manufacturer or an approved
servicing agent certifying that it has been inspected, that it complies with the above
requirements and stating the official capacity of the raft. The certificate shall indicate
that the life raft’s next inspection will not be required before July 19, 2014. The
certificate shall be carried on the yacht."

Model is a Viking 4UKL 4 person. Manufactured 03/2012 reinspected 05/2015 good for 3 years. Sal's sold it initially and did the re inspection with replacement of all the required items. All fine.
I have lowered the price to $2000. Still also have the Icom HF,tuner, antenna, kiss, pactor bluetooth/usb modem also. All working fine.
