Website & Forum Migration (Nov 13, 2024)

I wanted to let everyone know I'm planning to migrate the website next week on Wednesday, Nov 13. This will be a lengthy task and since the website itself is not a critical resource currently it will be done during working hours. There will be a static "down page" letting folks know about the migration and to please visit again after the migration.

Check this thread for updates on timeline, progress, etc.
This thread won't be available once the migration begins -- there will be a "down page" letting site/forum visitors know about the migration and when to check back.

Timeline
Here's the rough outline of the migration (some things subject to change as I need to plan a bit more):
0900PT: Put up migration page and take old site & forums down
0930PT: Begin migration...
1700PT: Final checks and redirect public traffic to new site and forums
1730PT: Post update to new forums; cc to board via email
1800PT: Drink a beer

Good news: our forums are migrated!
Bad news: I didn't get to the website today..

https://forum.sfbaysss.org will take you to our new conversational home. I updated the existing links on the website and 301 redirects to point there as well. Please let me know if you find something I missed.

I'm going to regroup on the website tomorrow. Will keep this group posted on what's happening.
