Your Boat Here

Philpott

Cal 2-27 Dura Mater
Cliff Shaw raced in the 2012 Singlehanded Transpac on Rainbow. Then he sailed off to the Polynesian Islands! Then he sailed to New Zealand! However, on the way his boat started to .... come apart at the seams ... Not. Good.

So he left her in New Zealand and sailed with other people for awhile. Then he decided, "I want my boat back", and went back to New Zealand where the Kiwis patched her up good as new and ... here she is in the drizzle of Svendsen's! Is Cliff going to sail Rainbow in the 2018 Transpac? Yup!

Aw, that's so great to see Cliff and Rainbow reunited. I've been meaning to send him an email to find out whether he'd gotten her back yet. Thanks for the update, Jackie! See you in Kauai, Cliff!

Those are some great shots of Domino and Kynntana!
Here's Nightmare, from the GG Bridge, heading out for our first SH Farallones race.
Thanks Jonathan.

That’s a great photo, Bob, and thank you for taking it, but this thread is for Transpac boats. Jeesh.

Umm, only TransPac boats.....I guess that doesn't mean K either. Oh well. Here's another of DM. I always enjoy pictures of pretty boats (and badass skippers), no matter what the criteria!

Oh my gosh! Do you two coordinate your teasing? Transpac and potential Transpac boats here so people are inspired!! Call it the aspirational thread. Sort of a precursor to the March 2018 Cruise-In ...

Like 2016, 2014 was an active hurricane season. Here's Frolic and SHTP'ers Brian Cline and Brian Boschma in Nawiliwili as the docks were covered by Julio's storm surge:

We were very fortunate that Julio didn't landfall on Kauai. Brian B and I sailed Frolic home below Julio as she chased another SHTP vet, Peter Heiberg on Scaramouche, but then, as Frolic approached CA, we had to divert N to avoid Maria as she traveled N...

Wow! the water surface is usually three or four feet below the concrete docks at high tide.
