Thanks. I'll let you know what happens with that guy.
Alan:

I have enjoyed your contributions to the SSS forum. My prior boat was an S2 8.6 so I'm watching your prep with interest. Reach me a lee dot johnson at q dot com if you want to talk S2s.

I'm on the wrong coast, but there is so much good information on the SSS site that I just had to be a "fly on the wall." I am a single-handed sailor of a 1980 Kaiser Gale Force 34 named Pleione. The Gale Force is a full keeled cutter built to sail anywhere in the world. I hope to use those capabilities someday soon, but I still have a lot of skills to master before I am at her level. I am blessed to be located on Penobscot Bay, which can offer just about any kind of sailing experience you desire; rapid evasion from lobster pots being the toughest.
Hi Brian,
I'm sorry to post here but I got this error message trying to message you privately:

brianb has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space.

Any chance you could clean old messages?

Hi John, This is Brian Boschma from the 2012 SHTP, I had the Olson 34 Redsky. An acquaintance is interested in your experience with autopilots on the Flight Risk. I was wondering if you could pass me your contact data, or I could forward his to you ? I hope you see this, and have a great year. I have been watching your exploits with Flight Risk and wish I could go try the Bermuda race.
Regards, Brian Boschma
John,
I apologize for any confusion with my forum thoughts on equipment. I don't recognize you from your profile name, can you let me know who you are? Lucie Mewes GEORGIA
I also sail out of coyote point I am on dock 12 . An e 28+ . My son sailed the race this year. Next week CPYC has a double handed race around T I and back.
We have to meet up and talk .
Jen, I saw you lurking. How are you doing? Are you going to tell me how your trip to Hawaii went? I'd love to hear. You weren't that far behind everybody. I'm very proud of you. Someone said that you said (somewhere) "I'll never do that again". Well, it would be really wonderful to get your feedback, and if you would prefer I keep them confidential, I promise to do that. Will you be coming to the SF area any time soon? Where is your boat? What did you do with it? I'm preparing for the longpac in June - sold my Cal 20 and bought a Cal 2-27 which is very similar to your Erikson 27, I am told. It is sitting in the boat yard getting new rigging and electronics etc. Costing a lot of money in the end, I'm sure, even though I sanded the mast down to raw aluminum, primed it and painted it. Today I started sanding my boom in my back yard, spewing toxic dust into my own and my yuppie neighbors' lungs. Do tell. my private email is [email protected]
Hi Tom,
I was on the docks today as I was leaving I noticed that your Main is pinned to the deck because it is full of water. I went on-board and dumped about 10-15 gallons of water, but I was unable to get the majority out. There is a lot more water trapped inside, so you should probably get down there and take the cover off and get the rest out.
I am going to call the Harbor Master's office in the morning to ask them to give you a call. I should get your number for such occasions. Mine is 707-484-9486, if you ever need to call me.

Thanks - Larry

Going flat out to get boat ready to go. Give me a all when/if you get down this way. either email at 'boatname'@hotmail.com or call 6047880225. Sorry, but getting a couple days to make it over to the gulf islands for a raft-up is not on, as My drop-dead date for departure for SF is Sept 1.

Went out into English bay last weekend to try out new chute and sprit. Works a treat!!

Don't know if this is the correct venue to let you know, but I'd prob participate if I knew more...

John,

This is Ronnie Simpson. The younger guy with the green Moore 24. Congrats on the Quest! Great boat! I heard through the grape vine that you were in need of some boat work and had gotten a quote that you weren't comfortable with. I am not currently rigging client's boats, but I can recommend the right guys locally if you would like. I have seen some other out of towners get treated poorly by boat yards here and I hope to prevent that. If you have things figured out, then totally forget I even said anything. But if you have any questions or want to discuss anything in prepping your boat, please feel free to call me at 415-400-6281. Please let me know any way I can help you out and I really look forward to having you in our race.

Cheers,

Ronnie Simpson
Moore 24 "US 101"

ps- just to set the mood for some Nor Cal sailing, here's a video of my Moore 24 racing offshore two weekends ago. It was a fun ride... : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJforyBNy9s
Hey George. Hope you're doing well. As of today (Mon. 3/5), my boat is still in a shed getting painted. It should be ready early next week, then I'll bring her to my home to finish up deck hardware and electronics...then I'll be ready for my qualifier. My intention is to do the 400 miler sometime in April. Let's stay in touch on this. Thanks for your message.
Hey Ruben, I was wondering if you have done your qualifier. I am thinking about a ride down to Catalina with a 100-150 mile offshore turning point to make the milage work. Would be willing to consider a Longpacish route as well. If you haven't yet, it could be fun to do a little 2 or 3 boat tuning. I sent this same message to Ronnie. Thanks, George
Phil when will you do your qualifier for the trans pac on the mini ? I won't be able to keep up but misery loves company .
