The Singlehanded TransPac has always been a Corinthian race - a race where you sail what you have.
It has also been billed as the adventure of a lifetime, and it is. Mike Jefferson

Quite the "then and now" contrast in pics, Jackie :)

There's definitely an argument for scruffy IMO. It looks like all these guys were living on their boats and just showed up for the pic. Every one of them looks like "the most interesting guy in the world"!

Last item on the "SER to do list", SER 3.28, done:

SER 3.28.jpg

Still a handful of things on the "SER to buy/rent/borrow/scrounge list". And not trivial stuff on the general to do list. 124 days to go. Breathe.

Max Crittenden, former Commodore of the SSS. Never one to make a fuss , always low key, here is his 2010 Transpac photo and a photo of him over this past weekend handing off a piece of equipment to a fellow sailor. Max says he really is moving down south now. Seriously. His garage is almost empty. He has the southern California singlehanded sailors in the crosshairs. Bon voyage, Max.

Rusty Roy plans to do the race this year in his Moore 24 Holokiki. No oven. No head. No problem. Good luck, Rusty!

Here's another Moore 24: Rushmoore with Reuben Gabriel waving goodbye at the start of the 2012 race. Time 15:00:26:00 corrected time 11:06:55:20. Photo probably by LaDonna Buback of Latitude 38. Got Transpac photos? Here's where you post 'em!

Sweet picture!

Okay, video du jour it is. Jiri Senkyrik sailed his Olson 30 KATO first over the line in Hanalei Bay in 2016. Time: 12:22:53:50/Corrected 10:12:34:11
Here he is, fresh off the boat, in Larry Conklin's crash boat headed for shore (in case your kids/grandkids are not around, click on the blue lettering. If that doesn't work, cut and paste this into your browser):

This is not my thread, you know. It's your thread. Post as you choose. Let's get this thing moving.

I tried to post a photo, Jackie, but I'm just not very techy. It downloaded sideways and then wouldn't display so I just had to bail on it. Hope this isn't a requirement for getting to the starting line.
