How many Channel Islands have you landed on? It's a select group who have set foot on all 8. I've only known three: Richard Sanford, Michael Benedict, and Howard Wright. Personally I've landed on 4: Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, San Miguel, and Catalina. https://www.nps.gov/chis/index.htm

I'm also at four; Anacapa, Santa Cruz, San Miguel, and Catalina. We anchored off Santa Rosa in two spots, but it was too windy to land.
Santa Barbara is on my bucket list, and I'd like to go back to Santa Rosa to explore the ranch at Bechers Bay. I doubt I'll ever set foot on San Nicolas or San Clemente, the unexploded ordinance is a buzz kill.
I've been ashore on SE Farallon and a few of the San Juans in the US and Canada, and Todos Santos and Cedros in Mexico so far.

Max, Though imperfect, there are alternate means to visit the Channel Islands available. Ferries (Catalina Express) run from San Pedro, Long Beach, and Dana Point to Catalina with connections to Two Harbors (Isthmus) where there is camping overlooking the Cove, and rooms available at the hotel mansion at Two Harbors, the Banning House Lodge, a historic Craftsman-style bed and breakfast. It was originally the summer home of the Banning brothers, who owned the island, and now offers sweeping views of the Isthmus and Catalina Harbor.

To land at Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa Islands there is transport from Ventura https://islandpackers.com/ Another way is to sail with SSS singlehander Mike Pyzel of Santa Barbara on his Cal-28 CABALLO BLANCO. Mike knows the Islands like the back of his hand after more than 500 visits, more than anyone I know.

Although I've sailed around all eight - they were good racing marks back in the day - I've only set foot on two: Catalina of course, many times, and Anacapa , in the mid-1960s when I was in Indian Guides. The party boat captain started getting nervous as the sea state was getting worse so we didn't stay long.

I've been to 3 of the Channel Islands. I wish I could say 4 but after a long night on anchor watch in Cuyler Harbor we left at dawn without even launching the dinghy. And we had a reservation to make the hike to the seal colony.
We also took Island Packers to Santa Rosa for 10 days. The hike to the campground is over an hour but there are lean to's, toilets and even solar showers.
Tried to get some lobster but got skunked.
