Not the same story

And it was not to be ... Between large seas, potential lighting, slatting around for hours ... I didn't think it was worth the payout. Time goes by ...

Well... this happened. An indication that I must do the race to get myself a new belt buckle?!? 😭

Are we getting those from the same guy in the foothills (Placerville?) who had the mold? I tracked him down in 2010 and he was reluctant to make them then - surely you've found someone else by now - who maybe doesn't know how to braze bronze?

nope, same guy, or at least the same company; that's the thing with casting - we don't own the tooling, so unless we want to make a new tool ($$) he's it.
The post 2014 buckles all have this pre-fabbed buckle strap assembly, unfortunately.

CaB has an A2 again! I found something priced reasonably'ish for what it is (practically new from 2019 aka barely used), let's just hope it comes home safely now (checked baggage)! 1000002126.jpg

Pfew, we made it home safely, now I just need to find a window to try it out. I don't think anyone will get the picture but ...

Disposed of oil and put the new to me A2 in my ATN sock. Still want to swap the sock of the A1.5 with this new to me sock I just got. Also need to figure out what to do with the old A2 (i.e. pack it neatly).
