Over in a LongPac thread ("Don't Forget the Skipper") we posted a bit about inexpensive AIS receivers. How many of you aspiring SH TransPac'ers have or are planning to get an AIS unit? Not necessarily a fancy Type B unit - just a receiver.

If you aren't fairly serious about doing a SH TransPac, please don't vote.

I just bought a receiver that receives both A and B signals. It works well in the Bay. I bought the one Bob reccomended (from the UK).
