Corinthian Race Buzzzzzz

Where have all the Non Spins gone? Last year we had 9 singlehanded and 16 doublehanded Non Spins for a total of 25. This year 1 single and 3 double. There must be a Non Spin party out there somewhere with 21 boats

Dura Mater's skipper is wearing big girl pants this year. Gonna get it right eventually.

AAAAGGGGGHHHHH! My mast is still down in the yard and it's coming down to the wire, isn't it?!? I'll go ahead and register as non-spin (I have a spinny; no big girl pants yet), but my currently nekkid boat and I might not be on the starting line. Please send good thoughts to Neptune....

Thanks for bringing Southhampton up. RC is planning on talking about this at the skippers meeting tomorrow night. I have an email into the USCG person in charge of the Notice to Mariners for this issue for any updates. If any of you local races who have rounded Southhampton recentaly and can give any more feedback to the SSS fleet, the RC would be happy to hear your wisdom....Rick

Well, it's still there anyway, unlike "E", which is laying sideways on the Berkeley Yacht Club dock, poor thing.

Most of that crunchy stuff is on the West side. We'll be rounding on the East side - it should be okay. (He said...)

You first...

Okay, as a public service, Rags and I agree to be the proverbial canary-in-the-coalmine and lead the fleet around the Southampton platform.

Cooperation from the rest of the fleet may be necessary. It's the least we can do...

Well, Kynntana is out of commission until probably early May. Don't cry for me (I already did that this morning) because she's going to be better'n new once everything is done. Just give a little wave as you pass the race deck on Saturday :) Hope everyone has an awesome day on the water!!!

Looking like a great day to race. If you can't make the race on the water come joint the RC on the race deck. Best location to see your fellow racers jockeying for first across the start line.

Thats a bummer. I enjoyed chasing you last year.

I missed the 3BF because work on Puffin. I arranged with a guy to replace the refrigeration system. Since I keep the boat right next to his office, he said he could fit me in between other jobs. Nothing happened for weeks and weeks but he managed to get started the day before 3BF. Grrr.

The breeze looks kinda light.
I was thinking of starting earlier, just so I can finish in time for supper. ;)
At least we are starting on an ebb, so I will (hopefully) be going the right direction!

See you out there!

Refrigeration....huh..

Refrigeration .... huh ... is right. Greg! Ignore Sail Tactics and those negative vibes. JackiePredicts a bit more wind, certainly wind good enough for a Wilderness and a sweet fat Cal 27. Pressure's dropping. A cold front's coming.

Per the NOR section (9) sub-section (f) sub-sub-section (iii), I can change my class to double-handed as late as 11 am, right? And then go back to singlehanded for future races? The NOR says something about a fee, but not sure how that works since I already did the full year membership thingy.
Sis is visiting town and wants to see what this whole almost-finishing-a-yacht-race thing is about.

That is correct, however, an advance email to the race chair with boat name and sail number would be appreciated to help the race deck correct the preprinted recording forms...And yes if you are a 2016 SSS member you can sail all year in either SH or DH...
