Garmin website hacked; ransomware

If you own a recent Garmin product...a fitness watch, a step-logger, a GPS...and your InReach and so on, you may be unable to use the item. Garmins infrastructure has been compromised by ransomware, and most functions of the website, including the customer database has been compromised.

I found out because I tried to make a Garmin account for my InReach and the website/database communications started acting up. The next day the whole site went down.

If you have a Garmin account, and they have your username, password and PIN...and your credit card number, now is the time to change your PIN on other accounts, if you happen to use just one PIN over several accounts. I'm changing my e-mail password, for example. Keep an eye on your credit card for any weird charges.

Website is back up. They claim that no data from Garmin Pay was stolen...but I would not trust that. I got mail from Garmin today so that's functional again.
