SHTP 2016 NOR - Version 0.90

The SHTP starts July 2nd from the Corinthian YC in SF Bay. I attempted to upload the NOR to this website but due to the fact that we have a 19Kbyte limitation on uploads, a limitation set in the days of core memory, it will not allow the doc to be posted here. It will be posted to the website.

A partial text of the NOR follows, the format is simple, and the document is shortened , so that this could be uploaded.

NOTICE OF RACE
1. OBJECTIVE
1.1 The Race is a sporting event, intended to encourage the development of
suitable yachts, safety equipment, gear and techniques for shorthanded ocean
crossings under sail.
2. ORGANIZERS
2.1 The Race is organized and managed by the Singlehanded TransPac Race
Committee (Race Committee) of the Singlehanded Sailing Society Inc. (SSS), which
has the authority to establish and interpret the Race Rules and Conditions (RRC)
governing the Race, to decide all protests, and to reject the entry of any yacht at
any time prior to the preparatory signal of the Race.
3. COURSE
3.1 The Race will start on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at a time to be specified in the
Race Sailing
Instructions (SI). The Course will be from the starting line located near the
Corinthian Yacht Club in San Francisco Bay, leaving the south tower of the Golden
Gate Bridge to port, thence by any course to the finish line located near Pu'u Poa
Point at Hanalei Bay, island of Kauai, Hawaii.
3.2 The calculated distance for the Race is 2,120 miles.
3.3 The maximum duration of the race will be three weeks. Vessels finishing more
than three weeks after the start will be marked as having finished after the deadline
(FAD).
