He is not a racer, but he is a single handed sailor, and a prolific writer. At 75 years old, he is working on his 6th single handed circumnavigation of the globe. This time on a Moore 24. From his journal (he deplores the word "blog") he posted a poem he wrote many years ago, which includes this stanza:

through the night
on unseen wind
and unseen waves
I sail unseen
