Last I heard, Jim was aboard Perplexity w John delivering it back to Sydney.

This from Jim:
John is leaving Perplexity in Sydney for maybe two months b4 heading north. John off Cape Raoul... nearing Tasman Island.

Going back to Wisconsin for a week visit, I have made a connection to go iceboating again. In the meantime, in a thread about how to determine ice thickness, this was posted. Something we don't think about out here: Hard Water.

Steve Saul did the SHTP a few years back on a gorgeous boat. He and his wife Val Saul still show up for SSS events, especially the starts of the Long Pac and SHTPs. Val has written a book and has not asked that I publicize it. But here it is, and there will be a book signing event in Corte Madera if anyone is interested.

Ages ago you and I spoke at an SSS event though I can't remember which one. We talked about our book publishing journeys. Well, believe it or not, my mystery, The Badass Widows is coming out in less than 3 weeks! It's available now to preorder at Bookshop.org, Barnes and Noble and of course the evil Amazon. Better yet, come to one of my book events at Book Passage Corte Madera. I'd love to see a familiar face in the audience.

Wish I could say that I will sail over, but alas, I don't think there is access to the water to Corte Madera.
