New Boat 4 Tchoup

That design and construction for the lofting points seems stout. Probably no need to think about it again when it is completed.

When it comes to the lifting bridle, it is useful to have some adjustment in the third leg since it allows the lifting point be adjusted fore and aft. A simple way is to use shackles on a temporary basis until the length is known. Then, come up with correct length in the final assembly. With the Moore 24 and Mair 28, it was nice to have the bow down and mast tilted forward to clear the boom on the hoist.

Do you have a floating completion time like Tally Ho? That schedule is a moving two years, so when the boat is launched, it will be 2 years ahead of schedule.

Keep up the fine work!

I hear you Ants. I believe the CG (in board-up haul out mode) will be slightly aft of my main lift points,
so I will build something similar but lighter at the mizzen step.
Also will be good points for the hiking straps.IMG_3185.JPG

Working with Hogin Sails. Looks like we’re going with a 3.9 oz Dacron square weave from Dimension Polyant and RBS tapered battens.

I'll need to step the mizzen mast to make sure I get the tube glued in properly. Which means rolling the boat out onto 20th Street at some point.

The mizzen mast tube drains to the centerboard trunk. This is partially below the waterline and will be very hard to reach once the cockpit floor goes down. So I sleeved the acrylic tube with fiberglass.IMG_3222 2.JPG

This sure sounds like an opportunity for your Fan Club to help. I’d be happy to come direct traffic. I have a bright vest and even a few orange cones.

I agree with the morale booster comment.

Nice work and good on the progress.

I noted that the RoG and Deer Isle Koster are relatively close in size. I will put together a dimension comparison for folks to see what options are available.

I picked up a pair of 10' oars on Craigslist. Most likely whale boat oars from Mare Island according to the seller. Perfect!
We don't want to be sticking delicate carbon blades into muddy rocky rivers. They're in pretty rough shape. No varnish happening here.
