Sailing Tomorrow

Sorry, Bob, but I know Surprise! deserves all the best and you (usually) know how to install stuff. You'll figure it out. It was cold here this morning until I turnedon my little no-brand heater. I doubt I could buy it again today so I hope it doesn't break down.
Here is Aquatic Cove last night. Pretty. Sparkly.
And the breakfast of champions, eggs (not really from Owl Harbor, but Devery gave me the carton) and avocado toast. Haha. I'm certainly not going to smush a perfectly good avocado and spread it on my toast. That would be crazy.

Here's something else I found. I use a lot of batteries: Headlamps, garmin gps, chartplotter on my Lenovo tablet. Bought two power blocks, a big one for my laptop, a smaller one for everything else. I have two new batteries but I never want to deplete them. This little doohicky can recharge batteries using a power block.FYI
BTW I have two agm deep cell batteries for a single hander. PM me.

Not sailing tomorrow, but the weekend of July 26, down to Half Moon Bay. If anyone would like to sail along on your own boat, 'cmon! I'll take lots of photos.

orange dinghy.jpg

Also my dinghy. I'm thinking of upgrading to an Explorer 300: $29.99 at Big Five. It has "dual air chambers" instead of the single one my current "raft" has. I think that means that, if my single air chamber got a hole in it I would sink. What do you think?

I think it is not that easy to get all the air out of it, even if it has a hole. So I think it will float in some fashion, even with a hole. In case you buy this one, it would be possible to do the experiment in a controlled environment, the shallow end of a heated, swimming pool.

Thanks, Todd. D'you know, I used to have a a really good Coleman raft that got a pinhole somewhere. I tried to find it by inflating it and taking it into a heated pool.
COULD NOT FIND IT!! Not one bubble.

So then I bought this little critter at Big Five on sale for $9.99 and darn if it hasn't held up like charm. Used it at Santa Cruz Island, in Tomales Bay and a couple of times around the RYC harbor.

Never anywhere w big wind or waves.
But it's a terrific product so far so I might go up top and buy its big cousin.
Good to see you on this forum. Are you coming down to HMB the weekend of July 26?
